What’s interesting, however, is that most people don’t even know if they are iron deficient. Why? Mild iron deficiency is often asymptomatic, but as the condition worsens, people that are iron deficient may experience:

Iron is a fundamental building block for the body to produce haemoglobin – the molecule found in red blood cells (RBCs) that transports oxygen around the body. Therefore, a body low in iron means that the body loses its oxygen carrying capacity, so maintaining iron levels is quite a big deal for optimum health.

Of course, these symptoms are rather broad and can signal other health related issues too, so if you suspect an iron deficiency, it is best to visit your GP for a blood test to screen your body’s iron levels.
