Spirulina, The Earth's Food.

Happy Earth Day! What better way to celebrate the Earth than to celebrate spirulina (earth's food). Spirulina is the most nutrient rich food on earth. It contains over 65% pure plant protein and is a natural source of bioavailable iron, vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, essential fatty acids such as GLA, phytonutrients and antioxidants). It's a great source of Vitamin E, Vitamin B12, Carotenoids, Chlorophyll a, and Phycocyanin. Spirulina contains most minerals too, including calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, and iron, all of which are more easily absorbed by the body. The protein content is much higher than most foods and includes all of the essential amino acids. The benefit of this superfood is that it can be cultivated on marginal, unusable and non-fertile ground. Its speedy growth means that spirulina needs twenty times less land than soybeans, forty times less than corn and two-hundred times less than beef cattle! Amazing stuff. Spirulina offers more nutrition per acre than any other food but doesn't actually require fertile soil. Spirulina uses a third water than soy, a fifth of corn and only a fiftieth than beef. It's for all these earthly reasons that experts believe that spirulina may well be the food that could sustain a world crisis. A 1947 Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations report suggested the need for agricultural development to cope with an increase in the world population for decades. Spirulina was recognised as a 'wonderful future food source' in 1967 by the International Association of Applied Microbiology too. It's no wonder why this superfood is one of the Earth's superfood wonders. Our VITUS Spirulina is the purest, cleanest and greenest!
